"Operation Andrew Card" Fuels Church Growth in India
INDIA -
Equip India's evangelistic approach, mirroring the "Early Church,"
emphasizes leveraging existing and developing new relationships as pathways to
share the Gospel. A key tool in this strategy is the "Operation Andrew
Card."
Each participating church member prayerfully lists ten individuals within their personal circles – family, neighbors, colleagues, and acquaintances – who do not yet have a relationship with Christ. By inquiring about their prayer needs, believers cultivate personal connections and seek opportunities to effectively, share their faith, utilizing a mastered Gospel presentation outline.
Pastor Manoj Rana from Lakheempur, UP, India, shared a
powerful example of this method in action. Following an "Operation Andrew
Outreach" in his village church, Sister Basanti prayed explicitly for an
18-member family in her neighborhood. After consistent prayer and training from
church members on how to witness, 13 members of that family embraced
Christianity within two weeks. They are now active church members and share the
Gospel with others.
Pastor John Vincely of Madurai, India, also testified
to the effectiveness of this approach. After receiving the training, he
equipped over 300 members of his congregation—an impressive 263 individuals
actively engaged in the "Andrew Ministry" using the cards. Within two
years, Pastor Vincely reported that his church had grown by "several
hundred people" as a direct result of this relational evangelism strategy.
These accounts highlight the power of personal connections and intentional
prayer in expanding the Christian faith within communities in India.
