Former Snake Charmer Leads Sikhs to Christ in Punjab
BHATINDA, PUNJAB, INDIA—Joginder Nath, a 52-year-old
man from a family of snake charmers in Punjab, North India, has become a
significant evangelist after converting to Christianity six months ago through
the work of Equip India.
Nath, who reportedly lived a "dark life" and faced constant fear of death while handling poisonous cobras from the age of 11, has now found "real light" in his faith. He has recently led four Sikh families to accept Christianity, and all of them have joined the IPC Church in Bhairupa, Bhatinda, Punjab.
Reflecting on his transformation, Joginder quoted 1
Corinthians 15:55: “O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy
victory?” expressing his newfound freedom from the fear of death after
receiving his faith. His story highlights the transformative impact of his
conversion and his active role in sharing his Christian beliefs with others in
his community.
