Radically Changed Life Because Someone Gave

Dev Raj Bhatta, from a remote mountain village in the Gorkha District of Nepal, was so religious and devoted to the Hindu god “Shiva” that he spent 22 years of his life as a Priest living at the Temple. During that time, he said that he felt no peace and lived under the penalty and bondage of sin, sentenced to eternal separation from God, helpless like sheep without a Shepherd.

Two years back, during on-the-job training, a Witnessing without Fear team from a nearby village church, led by an equipped trainer, visited Raj at the temple and shared the “Good News of Jesus Christ” with him.  After several minutes of deep conviction, he accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior. He immediately said, “No one ever told me that Jesus Christ died for me, and you told me in simple words! Even a child of 10 years can understand.”

 Five days later, Raj left the Temple of Shiva and went everywhere throughout the villages, saying, “Stones and wooden idols I worshipped as did my forefathers. Now I know the truth, and I am set free.”

In September, he completed Witnessing without Fear training and returned to his village church among 14 believers, hoping to teach them how to share their faith and be able to train others to do the same.
