The core values of an organization are those values that form the foundation on which it is built and sustained. In an ever-changing world, core values are constant. Equip India holds the following as its basic core values.
A Christian lifestyle of constant submission to the will of God and Lordship of Jesus Christ.
This means a follower of Christ practices devotion to, dependence on and humility before God —- Philippians 4:13; Psalm 37:3-8; James 4:10. A follower of Christ strives to do that which will please the Lord out of our Love for Him…because He first loved us.
Sound Biblical teaching to promote spiritual growth.
This means life change is the goal of our sharing and teaching —- James 1:23-24; 1 Pet 2:2-3. This life change occurs because of our love for Him.
The power of prayer for a fruitful Christian life.
This means prayer should permeate everything we do —- 1 Thessalonians 5:17; Philippians 4:6-7; Matthew 7:7. Prayer is our way of communicating with the Lord; which He decreed that we should do…
Possessing the heart of God that reaches out to the Lost.
This involves connecting people to people, and then, connecting people to God —- Luke 5:30-32; Luke 15; Matthew 18:14. The Lord said that we are to love one another. He who does not love does not know God. Reaching out to the lost must be done through love. A church as a fellowship of disciples of Jesus Christ empowered by the Holy Spirit. This includes the concepts of empowerment, servant leadership, strategic focus, and intentionality —- Neh 1, 2; Rom 12:8 (leadership); Acts 6:2-5.
A church that holds the ‘Last Commission’ as its first priority.
This means the church must be incarnation (bring Jesus to our community), indigenous (relating to the culture we’re in), and intentional (having a plan) —- 1 Cor 9:22-23; John 20:21.
Empowering every disciple to use his/her God given gifts for the growth of the community, but most important, for the growth of the Kingdom to come and effect transformation of the world. We cannot help others grow in the “knowledge and understanding of the Lord”, unless we continue to grow – 2 Timothy 2:15. We are all part of the same body, but with different gifts and talents to achieve unity in the Body.
